Born in 1966, in La Havana, Cuba

 

He initiated his artistic education at the San Alejandro School of Art, and graduated in Painting, Drawing and Print in 1986.

Between 1986 and 1993, year of his arrival in Mexico, he worked at the printing workshop “René Portocarrero”, of which he was one of the founders. By the end of 1986, he started teaching Visual Arts at the Libertad Institute of La Havana.

He also worked as a draughtsman in the Estudios Cinematográficos de Dibujos Animados, como dibujante, en el departamento de animación.

In 1989, he worked in the design department of the textile factory Ariguanabo.

In 1991, he joined the Cultural Centre of Bauta, where he worked in ambientación projects.

When he arrived in Mérida in 1993, he worked as a designer at the Firm Operadora Magia Real in various projects, such as shop designs, murals, building fronts, etc. One of these projects was the design and construction of the Magical Mexico Park in Quintana Roo.

In 1994-1995, he worked for the newspaper Novedades de Yucatán, in the cultural section. He also worked at the Serigrafos printing workshop, in the publicity area and produced a series of ads for the Hotel Fiesta Americana.

1996-1997: designer / creator for the chain Marco Polo.

1998: Lizardo starts producing his own work: paintings, drawings and sculptures.

2002: Maestro of Visual & Plastic Arts of the School of Architecture. 2003-2006: teaches Arts at the Patria Institute

COLLECTIVE EXHIBITIONS

His first exhibit, in 1988 in Cuba, was “mentionned”. In 1990, he won the First Prize at La Havana National Salon. The same year, he won the First Prize at Cuba´s first Humour and Satire Salon.
